Line & Shape
For many of the pictures I am close to the subject, but for others I am a few feet away. I used all kinds of point of views. There is a combination of taking pictures in a birds-eye view, from below and eye level. I made the ordinary extraordinary by composing the picture before actually taking it. I would try to take pictures that someone may not recognize at a first glance, but will later realize it is something they see everyday. I considered the rule of thirds in all but the 3rd and 5th pictures. Every other picture has visible lines at a point on the "thirds." My first photo is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer's eye through the work because of it's composition and point of view. It it from a very unique point of view because it blurs out the part of the wall that is super close to the camera and puts the focus on the far away part.
Texture & Pattern
Many of my pictures were shot very close to the subject using the zoom feature. The first and second pictures are the most captivating because the first one blurs out everything in the background and the second one because the shadows make the photo very interesting. By taking pictures of random things outside, it was a way to move beyond the subject of the image. If I could shoot one of them over again, it would be the third one because I don't like how I composed it. I would much rather have the tree be perfectly parallel to the angle of the photo. It is slightly tilted in the photo I took.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe.
I considered the rule of thirds in all of my pictures because I tried to put the power lines closer to one side, rather than the middle.
Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work?
The very first picture is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer's eye through the work because the power lines go in different direction, which captivates any viewer.
Which image do you feel contains the best play of organic and geometric shapes?
The second image contains the best play of organic and geometric shapes because there are multiple power lines going through, and the illusion of it getting smaller also appeals to the viewer.
Which image do you feel best satisfies the assignment? Why?
I think the first image best satisfies the assignment because it has actual lines that one can follow. Also there are not that many distractions in the background, like some of the others.
